Green Investing
It seems like everyone is an environmentalist lately. Green
investing is becoming more popular, but it may not be clear what that means.
The green movement has been volatile lately. Return profits on these investments tend to either boom or lag. A lot
of this is because green companies are often very undercapitalized and cannot support their expensive business for
long.
To invest in green companies safely, do your research. Don’t invest anything that you cannot afford to lose.
Spread your money out between a handful of companies that vary greatly in what they offer. That way you have a
backup plan for your investment. You also need to be patient. Environmentally friendly companies often take a long
time to make big money, and thus give you a big return. Green companies often have products that are more
expensive, but long term they have a lot of potential.
Probably the most lucrative and “safe” green company to invest in is alternative energy companies.
Especially if the fuel prices stay as high as they are, these companies are likely to get a lot of increased
revenue. Though the rises in returns for alternative energy companies have tapered since
2008, it is expected that they will continue to rise.
